XFishtank - Darwin Fish!

To Get your additional darwin fish to swim around your screen :
  1. Download darwin1.gif and darwin2.gif.
  2. Download Xfishtank. (Linux version available at Sunsite or localy)
  3. gunzip -cd xfishtank-2.1tp.tar.gz | tar xvf -
  4. cd xfishtank-2.1tp
  5. edit Fishlist
    increment 29 to 30
    add the line darwin after that
  6. xmkmf
  7. cd giftofish;make
    You may need to edit the makefile and change to this line:
    USRLIBDIR = /usr/X11R6/lib
    cd ..
  8. cd fishmaps
    ../giftofish/giftofish /path/to/darwin1.gif /path/to/darwin2.gif darwin
    cd ..
  9. make install
  10. E-Mail me and say "I JUST LOVE MY NEW PHISH!"


Now you can run xfishtank and enjoy evolution.

Bitchin' Camaro Usage of Xearth and XFishTank

I have a certain way i like my root window. It keeps me happy.
  • XEarth in merc projection (map mode), not quite filling the screen, with me in the center.
  • Xfishtank swimming on top of the earth (FISH IN SPACE).

    Try adding these two lines to your .xinitrc
    xearth -proj merc -pos 'fixed 37 -122' -mag .75 -wait 45 -night 7 -fork &
    xfishtank -b 50 -f 15 -r .1 -d &

    Xearth is available from mit.edu or localy.
